Frank has over 15 years of experience in the banking industry occupying key positions in commercial banks both local and foreign. Frank’s first banking job was with a finance company known as Kwong Yik Finance in the credit marketing department for commercial loans,  Industrial Hire Purchase and government guaranteed loan schemes.  Frank’s portfolio then was the financing of equipment and heavy machinery related mostly to the construction industry. In 1997, he joined Sime Finance and was appointed as the deputy branch manager for one of the bank’s core branches located in the city centre. Frank’s role then was to assist the branch manager in the branch’s day-to-day marketing, operation, deposit-taking and loan recovery which involved retail to small-medium-enterprise (SME) customers.

He eventually joined Maybank Finance where he was in-charge of the marketing and processing of share/equity finance for the bank bank’s Special Loan department. Besides share margin accounts (which was used by clients, both retail and institutional, to finance the trading of shares on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange), Frank’s portfolio includes financing of Initial Public Offerings (IPO)  shares, Rights Issues, Private Placement, Warrants, Loan Stocks and Employee Share Option Scheme (ESOS).

Among the notable new car financing products and programs developed by Frank for Maybank was the car refinancing and zero-interest car finance.

In 2005, Frank joined a GCC based Islamic Bank in Malaysia and was given the task of heading the bank’s automotive division involving the trading and floor-stocking of cars using shariah based concepts. As one of the bank’s pioneer staff, Frank was instrumental in developing and launching the car trading transaction in 2005 which was the first in Malaysian banking industry. The division went on to include equipment finance and receivables’ financing for motor vehicles.  Amongst the assets financed were buses, tractors, bulldozers, trailers, small aircraft, medical equipments, factory production lines, cars and motorcycles.
